Wengè’s colour is almost black. It is a hard and compact wood.
A unique and very elegant wood. Wengè is a particularly decorative and its heartwood and sapwood are quite distinct: the sapwood can be as wide as
3 cm and is almost white in colour whereas the heartwood can vary from golden brown to dark brown with black grain. It is admitted presence of knots. It comes from tropical African forests, withstands humidity and lasts well. Wengè is a warm modern wood with a fibrous structure.
