The soft colour and the moderately wide pattern of the fibre make this wood much appreciated by experts.
It was one of the raw woods used in the past paesant Italy. It is quite a heavy and hard wood.
Its typical colouring is light brown, yellow, olive green, reddish. The most import feature of Elm is its fibrous and interlinked grain. It is admitted presence of knots. Elm is very decorative and is considered to be one of the finest woods.
