The Unfinished Manor House Grade is what is often known as 'Brown Oak' in the oak flooring industry. Brown oak boards include areas of deeply coloured areas of grain - creating a truly striking flooring.
This brown oak occurs when a naturally occurring fungus living within the oak tree, causes a discolouration of the Timber.
Each board has been graded to what is known as character grade, meaning the floor will include a range of knots, cracks and shakes.
The Manor House Grade is supplied in boards of 20mm thick and lengths of 2 metres plus. Available widths are 120mm, 140mm, 160mm, 180mm and 200mm.The oak itself is from European source.
Whilst some prefer to finish these boards with a product which does not change the natural colour, these boards also respond beautifully when coated with a clear hard wax oil. This warm, honey golden effect will highlight the brown streaks.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that Peak Oak is consulted before specifying.
