For a truly aged solid oak floor from our 14mm range, we have the Montbray 14mm Solid Oak Flooring. Unlike our other grades of 14mm solid oak flooring which are supplied unfinished, the Montbray is prefinished board with a distinct texture.
Firstly the Montbray 14mm boards are fumed. This process darkens the wood from its natural unfinished colour - bringing out the pattern of the grain and emphasising the oaks natural characteristics.
After the fuming process the boards are then brushed, which involves using a Wire brush to add a texture to the surface of the boards. This technique enhances the grain of the oak flooring - creating an aged surface texture.
Finally to complete the process, these boards have been finished using a dark coloured hard wax oil. The resulting boards are ideally suited for the older, more traditional property.
Montbray 14mm solid oak flooring has been graded to our character grade. This means they will include a range of knots and cracks - combined with areas of perfectly grained oak.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that Peak Oak is consulted before specifying.
