Hexolabular TX (Torx) Pan Head Captive Screws are designed to be self-retaining after installation which prevents the screws from being misplaced.
They feature an unthreaded portion below the head, often referred to as a reduced shank, which at times host a captive washer.
Often utilised for safety reasons, captive screws are an EU legal requirement on some equipment.
This screw is an adaptation of DIN 7985 with a plain portion leaving a reduced core diameter, and they can be produced with a thread locking anti-vibration patch.
