Slotted Reduced Thread Captive Thumb Screws

by Fastenright

Slotted Captive Thumb Screws are a specialised variant of DIN 465 thumb screws with a slotted drive to allow the use of a slotted screwdriver. They also host a knurled head which improves the screws usability by hand.
Captive Screws feature an unthreaded portion below the head, which is often referred to as a reduced thread. Our full range of Captive Screws can be found here.
They create a self-retaining fastener once installed, preventing the full removal of the screw and providing a secure join to help avoid loss or damage within an assembly,
Often found in fastening sheet metal or captive panels for safety reasons, the screws are designed to be compliant with the EU machine safety directive.
Available from Fastenright as standard in A1 Stainless Steel. Other materials are also available including Titanium, as well as optional thread locking patches.
Slotted Reduced Thread Captive Thumb Screws to DIN 465 are available in thread diameters from M3 to M6, with lengths available from 12mm to 20mm.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and custom parts made to drawings.

d1 and L1 dimensions can be to customer specification.
