Security Pin TX Button Flange Captive screws provide reduced slippage or cam-out when compared with other drives like Phillips or 2-Hole. This reduces the risk of damage to the drive tip, screw head or application and makes it more cost-effective to install and remove.
Captive screws are designed with an unthreaded portion below the head. This can be referred to as the reduced shank and once installed, this screw is meant to self retain, helping to prevent any loss of fasteners.
The button head has a 6-point star-shaped drive with a centre pin. This means it will not work with standard torx bits, requiring a special insert bit or key wrench to insert and remove.
They host a rounded design with a larger surface area, which helps to reduce damage to the mating parts. This makes it ideal in many decorative applications or where a larger bearing surface is necessary.
They can be referred to by various names such as as Star Pin Drive screws, Tamper Torx , Torx Pin and Resistorx .
For increased security, these screws can be used alongside Pin TX Barrel Nuts, Security Wave Nuts, Shear Nuts, Kinmar Reusable Nuts, Kinmar Permanent Nuts or 4-Hole Nuts.
