Security Pin Hex Countersunk Head Captive Screws

by Fastenright

Security Pin Hex Countersunk Head Captive Screws are vandal resistant, ideal for applications requiring medium security, and where the fixing needs to be regularly removed for maintenance . These screws can only be fixed and removed by using a special driver bit or key that will fit accommodate the Pin Hex Drive.
Captive screws are designed with an unthreaded portion below the head often referred to as the reduced shank. Once installed, this screw is meant to self retain, which prevents any loss of fasteners.
They are designed to reduce cam-out, which occurs often in Phillips and 2-Hole drives. This lessens the risk of causing damage to the drive tip, screw head or application.
Tamper Resistant Pin Hex Security Captive screws offer a medium security resistance against vandals and thieves at a relatively low cost. These screws can be used with Security Wave Nuts, Shear Nuts, Kinmar Reusable Nuts, Kinmar Permanent Nuts, 4-Hole Nuts or Pin Torx Barrel Nuts for extra security.
Within the industry, Pin Hex security screws are often referred to by other names that include Hex Pin, Tamper Pin Hex, Socket Screw with Pin and DIN 7991 with Pin.
Security Pin Hex Countersunk Head Captive Screws are manufactured from A2 and A4 Stainless Steel as standard, with both Metric and Imperial sizes available from Fastenright.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and custom parts made to drawings.

d1 and L1 dimensions can be to customer specification.
