E5 Drive Security Captive screws host a dome head which features a unique external non-slip drive with five slots.
Captive screws are designed with an unthreaded portion below the head often referred to as the reduced shank. Once installed, this screw is meant to self retain, which prevents any loss of fasteners.
The drive is designed to reduce and resist cam-out, which can occur more frequently in more common drives, which in turn reduces the risk of damage to the screw or application.
With a reusable two-way drive, these screws are ideal for applications that require regular removal and re-installation for maintenance work. They require a special driver tool to install and remove.
E5 Drive Security Captive screws are tamper-resistant and provide a medium security resistance, while being usable in higher torque applications.
