Hex Socket Cap Thread Rolling Screws (DIN 912)

Hex Socket Cap Thread Rolling screws are made to DIN 912 standard and are known for their safety and reliability, whilst remaining economically viable. They host a hexagonal recess and are driven using a hex wrench or insert bit, making them much more efficient due to the higher resistance to cam out and their ability to be used alongside power drivers.
These screws are ideal for applications involving limited access, requiring only a small amount of clearance to fasten. They can be used in locations where externally wrenched fasteners aren t desirable. If used with the head recessed in a counterbore hole, it will provide an aesthetic finish with no protrusions.
Thread Rolling screws can be driven into a pre-drilled hole without the need for thread tapping and are typically designed for use with metals, but can be suitable for use with other malleable materials. Using an extruded hole may provide extra length and allow for improved retention.
They host a three lobe thread design which when inserted into the fastening material, creates it s own threads, pushing any excess material into the relief areas of the screw. This increases resistance to vibration and reduces the chance of the screw becoming loose.
Thread Rolling screws also help to avoid loose chips that are caused by other thread cutting processes.
Hex Socket Cap Thread Rolling screws are available as standard in Steel Zinc Plated and Steel Black Plated from Fastenright, with thread sizes M4 to M8 and lengths ranging from 8mm to 50mm.
