Aluminium Socket Head Cap Screws (DIN 912)

by Fastenright

Aluminium Socket Head Cap Screws are made to DIN 912 standard or ISO 4726 and host a hexagonal recess. They are driven using a specialised insert bit or a hex wrench, which makes them more efficient than some slotted screw products due to to the added resistance to cam out and the fact that they are able to be used alongside power drivers to speed up the installation.
The cylindrical head is often found in higher strength fasteners, meaning aluminium is a perfect material for the socket head cap screw. The material is resistant to temperatures up to 150 C and hosts relatively strong yield strength and tensile strength.
Higher torque is able to be achieved with the use of these socket heads.
Aluminium Socket Head Cap Screws are useful in applications in which there are weight restrictions for the fastener, such as within the automotive industry where weight reductions will need to be made to reduce the overall weight of the vehicle.
A cost-effective, aesthetically pleasing fastener material that is resistant to corrosion and is non-ferrous, Aluminium is a popular choice amongst socket head cap screws and other fasteners.
Available from Fastenright in thread diameters ranging from M1.4 to M80.
Non-standard diameters, lengths and thread variants are available to order as specials, including custom parts made to drawings.
