6 Lobe TX Socket Cap Thread Rolling screws are made to DIN 7500 standard and host a six-lobe recess. They are driven using a 6 Lobe wrench or insert bit which makes them more efficient than standard slotted and hex drive screws.
Also known as Torx Head Cap Screws or Allen Bolts, these screws have a cylindrical head with a six-lobe socket drive. This means it has more resistance to cam-out and can be used with power drivers, allowing for faster use and higher torque to be achieved.
Thread Rolling screws are typically designed for use with metals, but can be suitable for use with other malleable materials. They can be driven into a pre-drilled hole without the need for thread tapping, however an extruded hole may provide extra length and allow for improved retention.
These screws also help to avoid loose chips that are caused by other thread cutting processes.
They host a three lobe thread design which when inserted into the fastening material, creates it s own threads, pushing any excess material into the relief areas of the screw. This increases resistance to vibration and reduces the chance of the screw becoming loose.
Socket Head Cap screws are great for use when space is limited and externally wrenched fasteners are not desirable. They are often used in machine parts or for applications such as clamping.
6 Lobe TX Socket Cap Thread Rolling Screws are manufactured in Steel Zinc Plated and Steel Black Plated as standard.
Available from Fastenright in sizes M4 to M6 and lengths ranging from 10mm to 30mm as standard.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and custom parts made to drawings.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that Fastenright is consulted before specifying.
