The 6-Lobe TX Countersunk Head Machine Screw is similar to DIN 7985 and are also known as Torx screws.
They host a 6-Lobular Recess and are driven using a mating wrench or insert bit ranging from TX5 to TX40. This makes the screws more efficient that slotted screw products due to hosting more resistance to cam out and ability to be used with power drivers which allows higher torque levels to be achieved.
The drive had long been used within the automotive industry, before being superseded by the 5-Lobe TX+ Drive.
Available as standard in sizes ranging from M1.6 to M8, with other diameters and lengths available upon request.
The 6-Lobe TX Countersunk Machine Screw is also available in UNC, UNF, Self Drilling, Thread Forming and Self Tapping forms.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and custom parts made to drawings.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that Fastenright is consulted before specifying.
