HD1053 High Performing Acoustic System for Single Metal Stud Wall

Hush Acoustics' HD1053 acoustic insulation treatment provides a tried and tested solution for single metal stud walls used to create non load-bearing lightweight partitions.
The system is designed specifically to enhance the sound insulation in lightweight 92mm/94mm single metal stud and track systems used in has applications including residential, commercial and industrial. The HD1053 system is suitable for new build, conversion and refurbishment developments, offering excellent acoustic performance levels that exceed the sound reduction requirements of the Building Regulations covering all four UK nations.
As a fully tested system, specifiers and contractors can use it with total confidence to deliver the stated sound insulating performance, providing no individual products are substituted or omitted and the system is installed in line with Hush Acoustics' guidance.
The HD1053 system is formed using Hush Acoustics' high quality sound insulation products in the following way:
- Construct a single frame of 92mm/94mm metal stud and track.
- Ensure the stud and track is isolated from the floor and ceiling structure using the Hush Heavy Duty Isolation Tape.
- Insulate within the stud using Hush-Slab 100 Sound Absorber - these slabs must be installed tightly within the stud frame.
- Install Hush Bar Deep Resilient Bars to one side of the stud frame.
- Face both sides of the wall with two layers of 15mm Soundbloc Plasterboards.
- Ensure the plasterboard fixings attaching the Soundbloc to the Hush Deep Resilient Bars do not penetrate through to the stud work.
- Finally, ensure the perimeters of the plasterboards are sealed with the Hush Acoustic Sealant.
The system complies with the sound insulation standards set out in Approved Document E (England & Wales), Section 5 (Scotland) and Part G (Northern Ireland) and it provides a 1 hour fire resistance standard.
