HD1052 Twin Metal Stud Wall Acoustic Insulation System

The HD1052 Twin Metal Stud Wall Acoustic System from Hush provides an ideal way to provide effective sound insulation in a lightweight separating stud wall created using twin metal studs. Created using high quality acoustic products, the system has been tested to be fully compliant with all the UK Building Regulations covering England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The acoustic insulation is formed in the following way:

• Two frames of 70mm metal stud and track are constructed in the usual way. The metal stud and track is isolated from the floor and ceiling structure by using Hush Heavy Duty Isolation Tape.
• Ensure there is a minimum 50mm clear gap between the two stud frames. This gap should remain clear.
• The spaces within each stud frame are insulated using the Hush Slab 75 Sound Absorber. Ensure this is installed within the stud frames only and not the clear air gap between the stud frames.
• Finally, face each stud frame with two layers of 15mm Soundbloc Plasterboards, ensuring the perimeters of the plasterboards are sealed using the Hush Acoustic Sealant.

The HD1052 system is suitable for new build, conversion and refurbishment projects, providing excellent acoustic performance as a result of the clear void between the two stud frames. It meets the requirements of Approved Document E (England & Wales), Section 5 (Scotland) and Part G (Northern Ireland).
