Titanium Nyloc Nuts are torque prevailing nuts which use a plastic/nylon insert which is inserted towards the top of the nut. This reduces the inner diameter, which then deforms over the mating thread.
This captures the bolt or screw, therefore providing a locking feature causing resistance or prevailing torque, which keeps the nut resistant to vibration and locked in position.
The threads of the screw or fastener do not cause damage to the plastic/nylon section, allowing the nut to be re-used. It will, however, deteriorate after persistent re-use.
An economic locking nut, Titanium Nyloc Nuts are ideal in applications where vibration or motion could loosen or undo the nut. They can also be used to assist in sealing the bolt thread against seepage of oil, water, petrol, paraffin and a range of other liquids.
Available in Type T and Type P, made to DIN 985 and DIN 982 standard respectively.
Manufactured in Grade 2 Titanium and Grade 5 Titanium. Available from Fastenright in diameters from M1.2 to M56 as standard.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and custom parts made to drawings.
