Insert Nuts For Wood Type I

by Fastenright

Type I Insert Nuts for Wood, or Knock In Insert Type I, have external teeth or barbs which provide a strong, permanent thread for wood and wood-based materials, providing substantial holding power even when torqued laterally.
The coarse external barb pattern ensures a maximum holding power and helps to simplify installation by knocking the insert into the base material.
This insert nut has a blind or closed round surface flange which is pressed or hammered into position through a pre-drilled pilot hole. Once in position, a joint connector bolt can be inserted from the adjacent side and screwed into position mating the insert nut to provide a strong clamping force, increasing its holding power and producing an aesthetically pleasing finished appearance.
Type I Insert Nuts for Wood are available from Fastenright in Zinc Alloy as standard, with various finishes available on request.
Thread diameters from M4 to M8 in various lengths. Specials are available to order.
Non-standard sizes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and custom parts made to drawings.
