High Corrosion Resistant Hexagon Domed Cap Nuts

by Fastenright

High Corrosion Resistant Hexagon Domed Cap Nuts are hex nuts with a domed top resembling an acorn, that are generally used for decorative purposes, concealing the threaded end of a fastener for a pleasing aesthetic finish.
At times, they can be used as an alternative to the supplied fixing in car modification.
They are strong options for applications that cause fasteners to be prone to corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion and are available in 1.4529 HCR Grade A8 Steel, A5 Steel and Duplex Stainless Steel.
A5 Steel Hexagon Domed Cap Nuts can often be found in marine applications, such as shipbuilding, or within interior or exterior architecture.
1.4529 HCR (Grade A8) Steel Hexagon Domed Cap Nuts host an increased corrosion resistance to stress corrosion cracking and can be found in pipeline systems and areas exposed to seawater.
Duplex Stainless Steel Hexagon Domed Cap Nuts host higher strength than more standardised Stainless Steels like A2 and A4. They host improved corrosion resistance, meaning they can be used in seawater equipment, but not in temperatures above 600 degrees.
Available from Fastenright as standard from M6 to M2, with specials available to order.
Specials are also available in the material Super Duplex Stainless Steel, which offers excellent corrosion resistance and significantly higher strengths.
