Eye bolts are mechanical fasteners with threaded shafts and a ring-shaped head, and are used to attach to a structure in which the eye or ring can have rope, cable or shackled secured on them.
They host safe working loads, with lower strength and higher strength eyebolts available for special purposes.
Low-strength eye bolts are often formed from a length of bar with the diameter of the nominal thread size, with the head bent into a ring from an unthreaded section of the bar. These eyebolts can carry axial loads well, but should not be used for off-axis loads.
High-strength eye bolts have forged heads and generally host a substantial shoulder, which enables them to support off-axis loads which is important in applications that require multiple eyes .
Available in both Metric and Imperial threads, in a range of sizes and finishes.
Non-standard sizes and materials are available to order as specials, including custom parts made to drawings.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that Fastenright is consulted before specifying.
