Coach Bolts, which are frequency called Carriage Bolts, are hexagon-headed self tapping fasteners that are most commonly used in fastening Wood to Metal and Wood to Wood.
With an unthreaded section on the bolt, this adds strength to its construction, and makes it more resistant to shear forces when compared to fully threaded variants. The hexagon head of a Coach Bolt makes it more suitable for heavy-duty applications.
Carriage Bolts are available from Fastenright in sizes from M5 M12 and lengths of 20 400mm as standard.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and custom parts made to drawings.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that Fastenright is consulted before specifying.
