Wenge - Timber

Wenge typically orginates from Zaire, Africa. Trees do not normally gow beyond 60 feet in height.
Sapwood is yellowish-white in colour and distinct from heartwood which is dark brown with alternate bands of dark and lighter coloured tissue giving a characteristic feature. Grain is straight and texture is rather coarse.
Very suitable for use as flooring strips or blocks. May also be used for interior and exterior joinery.
