Meranti - Timber

Throughout south east Asia. A large tree and may reach a height of up to 225 feet.
Medium to dark red in colour. Sapwood pink in colour and rather poorly defined. Interlocking grain and a rather coarse texture.
Suitable for more exacting purposes in construction, exterior and interior joinery, shopfitting and boat building.
