Ash - Timber

Eastern half of the United States and Canada. Average tree height 100 120 feet.
Sapwood nearly white. Heartwood greyish-brown. Grain is usually straight with a coarse texture.
Used extensively for handles of tools such as axes, spades and hammers. Soft ash is used for cabinet work and interior joinery.
