SoluGuard Woodworm Treatment (BPR) is a high-strength treatment for dealing with woodworm infestations. It is supplied ready-for-use in pack sizes up to 5 litres.
SoluGuard Woodworm Treatment (BPR) contains permethrin as its active ingredient. This has been selected because it has proven effectiveness against all lifecycle stages of common woodworm species (eggs, larvae, and adult beetles).
SoluGuard Woodworm Treatment (BPR) contains 0.25% permethrin more than double the strength of many competing products. Its high strength allows it to pass the stringent tests necessary for it to be classified under the Biocidal Products Regulation as a curative treatment for Common Furniture Beetle and House Longhorn Beetle rather than a preventative treatment when applied at the maximum application rate of 300 ml/m2.
Due to its microemulsion formulation, SoluGuard Woodworm Treatment (BPR) also benefits from enhanced penetration into Timber providing a deeper protective envelope compared with standard emulsion woodworm treatments.
Product benefits include:
Full strength formulation (0.2% permethrin)
Solvent-free (non-flammable, no VOCs, low odour)
Tested for efficacy to European EN Standards against common woodworm species
Extremely stable (no separation uniform, even treatment)
Targets all lifecycle stages (eggs, larvae, and adult beetles)
SoluGuard Woodworm Treatment (BPR) Application
SoluGuard Woodworm Treatment (BPR) can be applied by brush or low-pressure spray.
The application rate will vary depending on the species of wood-boring insect being targeted and whether a preventative or curative treatment is required.
For preventative treatment of woodworm (i.e. preventing woodworm from attacking unaffected timbers) SoluGuard Woodworm Treatment (BPR) is applied at a rate of 200 ml/m2.
For curative treatment (i.e. treating timber that has already been attacked by woodworm), SoluGuard Woodworm Treatment (BPR) is applied at a rate of 300 ml/m2 - this will typically require more than one coat depending on the absorbency of the timber. Please note that, except for mild infestations of common furniture beetle (anobium punctatum), curative treatment of timber affected by woodworm should be carried out by a professional contractor. Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that Safeguard Europe is consulted before specifying.
