Sedum plug-planted systems use young plant material (small seedling plugs) planted at a density of 20-25 plants/sqm. A broad range of Sedum species are available to increase the diversity of the system and provide more floristic interest. These types of roofs are immature and will therefore take around 12 months to establish with the correct maintenance (see maintenance section).
