Living roof surfaces provide a huge range of benefits and offer an effective use of space, while helping to sustain and replace lost habitats from ever increasing urban expansion. They can be installed on a number of different roof surfaces and can be planted with herbs, sedums or naturally growing wildflowers from the local area.
Allbase green roofing modules are the ideal way to install a cost-effective lightweight green roof without using complicated layers of build-up. Simply lay the fully established sedum or wild flower modules onto an Allbase approved roof surface for a satisfying long-term green roof.
Green roofs are more biodiverse than traditional roofing materials and will naturally provide benefits for wildlife compared to non-green roofs. Along with traditional sedums our green roofing modules can be supplied with wild flowers and grasses that are indigenous to the projects area, providing better support for the locally arising plants birds and small insects, encouraging a wider spread of species in the area.
Plants and green spaces reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and produce oxygen. Plant based living roofs contribute to the reduction of a number of polluting air particles and compounds not only through the plants themselves, but also by deposition in the growing medium.
Green roofing can help keep those energy bills down
Depending on the time of year and the amount of water held within the system, green roofing provides greater thermal performance and roof insulation. In Summer time the green roof acts as an insulation barrier, reducing the amount of solar energy kept in the roofs membrane which leads to cooler temperatures beneath the surface. In Winter the root activity, air layers and overall system naturally creates heat, providing an insulation membrane which reduces the heat lost from the building.
Every green roof module is pre-grown and acclimatised before being delivered to you. The green roofing modules can either be installed by yourself or one of our approved contractors and our products are backed up with first class customer service and honest expert advice.
Our lowest cost green roofing option. Your module will be supplied with wildflower seeds pre-germinated depending on the season. In spring and summer your brown wildflower roof will burst into colour with flowers blooming. Local plant seeds may also blow onto the roof adding diversity. In Autumn and winter the plants will die down leaving 60mm of 100% recycled growing media.
The soil used is a special mix prepared specifically for the modules, but particular mixes can also be prepared depending on the planting & project requirement.
Consists of a mix of 20-30 varieties of wildflowers and meadow grasses. These are seasonal and the roof will lie fallow during Autumn and Winter.
The module is equipped with a double-action coupling system: the tabs on the side of each part engage the edge in the gaps between tabs of the facing part.
The module is made from recycled HDPE Plastic and provides the correct levels of hydration and protection for the roots while the cups greatly improve product handing making it easier to install.
Our most popular choice of green roofing system. The low maintenance and instant impact of our pre-grown Sedum roofing modules makes them an obvious choice. Your kit will be supplied with established plant coverage, growing on 60mm 100% recycled growing media.

Your modules will be supplied with established plant coverage, growing on 60mm 100% recycled growing media. The wildflowers and meadow grasses will burst into colour in the Spring and Summer and die back in Autumn and Winter however unlike a Brown WIldflower roof, the Sedum’s will continue to grow all year keeping the roof green and visually attractive.
