Stylite Passivehaus foundation insulation is manufactured from Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) to eliminate the critical cold bridging that otherwise occurs between the ground, the concrete foundation and the floors and Walls of the building. Super low u-values of 0.10W/m2K can be achieved to help meet Passivehaus standards as underfloor heat loss is greatly reduced from around 65% to 12% when compared to traditional constructions. EPS has minimal water absorption and permeability making it the ideal product for underground applications. Using EPS will also save on other materials with around a 60% saving on concrete. High grade EPS offers excellent compressive strength more than capable of supporting the loads from two storey buildings.
