Superglass expands its CCPI assessed product range

Superglass, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of glass mineral wool insulation, has achieved the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) assessment for even more of its product sets.

The Superwall Cavity Batts insulation range was the first of its products to be CCPI assessed. Now, Superglass has become the first UK insulation manufacturer to have achieved CCPI assessment of five of its other product sets, including: Loft Insulation, Acoustic Insulation, Cladding Insulation, Timber and Rafter Insulation and Blown Wool Insulation.

The CCPI was initiated by the Construction Product Association (CPA) as a direct response to Dame Judith Hackitt’s review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety, set up in the wake of the Grenfell Tower tragedy. There are 11 Clauses within the CCPI assessment which cover a wide range of matters from responsibility for product information, to transparency of performance, proof of stated claims, general information and competency. The CCPI only awards assessments to products where information on performance is clear, accurate, accessible, up-to-date and unambiguous.

Superglass is one of the first insulation manufacturer to have the majority of its product sets assessed by CCPI. As a result, it is able to provide greater confidence to specifiers, installers, housebuilders and stockists about the performance of its glass mineral wool insulation products.

CCPI assessed products are becoming increasingly important to those looking for safeguards in relation to product performance claims.
