HouseBreathe is a spun bonded polypropylene flexible sheet. Developed primarily for use in Timber frame wall construction, HouseBreathe provides protection against wind-driven rain, snow and dust whilst still allowing the controlled release of vapour from within the timber frame. HouseBreathe conforms to the requirements of W2 material in accordance with BS EN 13859-2:2010 and needs to be installed, used and maintained in accordance with it s CE certificate and installation instructions. Supplied in roll form, HouseBreathe should be fixed to frames with Stainless Steel Nails or Staples at centres no more than 500mm. On areas where sheets are required to be lapped, the following dimensions must be adhered to: Vertical 150mm Horizontal 100mm. Upper layers should overlap lower layers to shed water away from the sheathing. Vertical laps should be staggered wherever possible. Positions of studs should be marked on the face of the breather membrane, by tape, to enable the securing of wall tie fixings.
