Dappled Concrete

by CBS Concreting

Dappled concrete can be laid in large areas quickly. The concrete used is very fluid so the surface finish is flatter then most concrete installations.

A fluid concrete is installed using laser levels or guide rails to achieve the correct level, then a metal bar is lowered and raised through the concrete at right angles to drive out the air leaving a Smooth surface. The minimum depth for a dappled concrete is 75mm bonded and 100mm un-bonded, this must be reinforced with a Steel mesh or fibres dependent on the application.

Drying times are 1 day per mm as a guide. The surface is suitable for tiles, raised access floors and polished concrete without requiring further applications. Normally used in foot traffic areas. Typical applications offices, schools, shops base slabs for Modular Buildings such as flat pack houses.
