Benchmade Bricks are a huge part of our handmade brick range, and are becoming a popular favourite amongst Architects.
Our Maxima Range rely heavily on this manufacturing method for bricks above 327mm in length.
Furthermore, our wide range of Bricks of Special Shapes and Sizes (BS 4729:1990) are also manufactured using the same process to ensure accuracy and uniformity in their finish. Due to this we have been honoured to be involved in Dumfries House, Ayrshire, where we secured a BDA Brick Award. Prince Charles himself commented on the intricacy and craftsmanship of the Folly, which was achieved by our Bricks and the work of Samuel Templeton.
Ultimately these bricks are of a smoother a texture, and appear less rustic than their handmade counterparts.
The benefit of this means they are ideal when trying to replicate a brick of particular character.
We can also offer these bricks in all our standard colours, as well as manufacturing bricks to bespoke sizes and blends of colour.
We also have countless projects that have received commendations and awards, and would be happy to provide examples where bench made bricks are integral.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that York Handmade Brick Company Ltd is consulted before specifying.
