Aldwark Handmade Bricks

The Aldwark Blend is arguably a sister to our Hambleton Blend using the same clay body as the Hambleton. However, the colour is significantly changed by burning iron ore into the surface. This enables the blend to exhibit mellow shades of yellow mixed with deep purples and reds.
The brick is popular within Heritage and Conservation projects were heavy weathering has darkened existing brick facades, and a darker brick is needed to tone down the colours.
The Aldwark is also a component of our pre-2009 Old Clamp Blend, referred to as the '5-Brick Old Clamp Blend' where multi-tonal colours are required for a more specific brick match.
