Dual tech readers for the Portal Plus access control system are available in 3 different reader combinations which include: fingerprint and keypad access, fingerprint and proximity access or keypad and proximity access. The combined reader format enables these technologies to be combined together to offer enhanced security measures or a choice of access to the user.
The dual tech readers are particularly useful in high security applications where it could be a requirement for users to validate two levels of security in order to gain access to an area or building.
The dual tech readers are surface mount in moulded aluminium with a silver finish with both the fingerprint and proximity access and the keypad and proximity access readers available with Mifare readers . They use industry standard Wiegand protocol (default 26 bit) for communication which enables these readers to be used on both the Videx Portal Plus networkable access control system and third party access systems offering a flexible design. The readers can be programmed and setup using the PROS CS software.
