This biometric information is converted to ISO compliant fingerprint templates. These are encrypted before being written to the DESFire Smart Card s memory, and the FUSION personnel database. The combination of smart card and fingerprint provides a very high level of authentication, ensuring that the cardholder is the bona-fide owner of the card before granting access.
