Balach Grey

by UK Slate

Balach Grey is a medium textured dark blue grey Slate with a slight speckling of small inclusions which was originally laid down in the mid Cambrian geological period. These small inclusions are harmless and do not oxidise.
This quarry in the Valdeorras region of North West Spain has been successfully operating since 1980. The deposits which they work have extensive reserves which will continue supplies for at least another 100 years.
We produce this slate specifically for Scotland, where the general preference is for a thicker and more rugged slate, to give the appearance of the now sadly non operating Scottish quarries.

The slate has full European BSEN12326-1:2004 certification and a quarry backed quarantee of 30 Years. The slate attains A1, T1 and S1 certification
