Shading profiles can be provided in rectangular, square, trapezoidal, circular, elliptical configurations. They can be manufactured from Single piece wood stock or, for larger sizes, from laminated engineered timbers.

Timber Construction and Operation
Typically our solar shading blade and rafter support profiles are supplied as single piece constructions, of infinate geometry, when manufactured from a 285mm x 45mm rectangular 'blank' dependant upon type of timber utilised and material stock availability at time of order and manufacture. Timber is a natural product and stock availability is dependant upon controlled supply through responsible and sustainable sources.

For horizontal 'canopy' shading panel projections the timber louvre blade profiles can be fixed between wooden, Aluminium or Stainless Steel endplate support rafters via stainless steel 'floating' pin Connectors, screw fastenings or, for larger profiles, high-load hexhead coach bolts or similar. All fasteners are selected to suit required loadings and product requirements and installed location.

A range of timbers are available, Western Red Cedar is a common choice specified for its stability and durability although other wood types can also be used such as Accoya, Thermwood, Larch, European Oak and Meranti.

MEDERA™ timber solar shading products are usually supplied from air dried 'green' graded timbers where no surface staining or treatments are required. Kiln dried woods are also available where preferred and the use of stains and other surface treatments may be needed. Solinear are able to offer a full advice service for any of these requirements.
