PHOTOGRAPH – The above picture was taken at Exova Warrington fire research establishment at the point the glass failed during a fire test in October 2009. The test was commissioned by Pilkington’s Glass Ltd to test a new “Pyroshield textured” glass, the glass is designed to offer 30 minutes integrity only fire resistance. As the picture clearly demonstrates the screen actually lasted some 45 minutes.
FirebREAk Steel screens can be designed to comply with the integrity requirements of BS476 part 22-1987 for 30, 60 & 120 minutes fire resistance.
