Natuwool is the highest quality natural sheep's wool insulation on the market and we are proud to say that our wool is not mixed with other fibres which reduces the performance and benefits of using sheep's wool as an insulation product. Using other fibres completely negates the incredible values of using a natural product in the first place.
Natuwool is perfect for new-build and refurbishment alike; Natuwool is hygroscopic and can absorb up to 35% of its own weight in moisture without affecting thermal performance (lambda value) and releases the moisture naturally during drier periods.
Natuwool is able to draw out moisture from Timber; conditioning it, preventing mould growth and protecting the structure of the building. As well as the fabric of the building, the inhabitants are also protected; in addition to the moisture factor, Natuwool absorbs Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) from the environment, locking them away and dealing with the symptoms of sick building syndrome. VOCs include formaldehyde, benzene, toluene and limonene which can be found in construction products, furniture, cleaning sundries and Air Fresheners. Natuwool is a passive 'back up' to natural and mechanical ventilation, both of which can be affected by human error; not opening a window or maintaining ventilation systems in air-tight buildings the lack of which contributes massively to poor Indoor Air Quality (IAQ).
Natuwool is not attractive to moths or other insects, using a natural treatment at the correct point during the manufacturing process means that IPP Black Mountain is proud to say that they have never had an issue with infestation
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that IPP Black Mountain is consulted before specifying.
