In the 1970's a concrete profile was developed to contain vehicles, this profile was referred to as New Jersey.
By adapting this profile and converting it to Steel, with strategic reinforcement and a simple anchor arrangement the STEELGARD system was developed.
Modular in style and robust in nature the STEELGARD system is connected together using a specific and unique hinge assembly detail designed to provide a gateway for the distribution of energy amongst its members causing a failure of the anchors to create a heavy chain mechanism to occur.
By designing the system in this manner means heavier vehicles can be contained without increasing loads to the structure or concrete support.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that FerroStrada (UK) Limited is consulted before specifying.
