Tantalum Threaded Rods

by Fastenright

Tantalum Threaded Rods are often used when the corrosion resistance of Nickel alloys, Titanium or Zirconium is not enough for the application. They are known for their unmatched corrosion resistance and chemical inertness. In fact, they host a similar corrosion resistance of glass but the mechanical and electrical properties of a metal.
There is an incredibly long list of media that Tantalum shows immunity to corrosion in, including chlorine, acids and salts. It also shows limited corrosion resistance to ammonia, hydrofluoric acid and molten sulfates.
Tantalum is also stable at high temperatures, with a melting point of around 3000 C but high temperatures could require a vacuum as the material may embrittle in high-oxygen environments above 250 C.
Available in thread sizes of M2 to M10 as standard, but larger sizes can be made to order.
