The Maple and Walnut Commission

by Edwin Loxley

This magnificent maple and walnut commission makes the most of the rooms wonderful light and architectural features. The room s large picture window is framed with two opposing, symmetrically curved larder units which are mounted on the kitchens work top, in easy reach of the cook.

Being a historic, listed property, Loxley were also under the watchful eye of English Heritage. The result, furniture perfectly in keeping with the homes style and character, using English catspaw oak and a specially created aged, painted patina.

The kitchens curved theme has been continued onto the large central island, which leads your eye to the impressive vaulted ceiling. The other side of the kitchen has a delightfully simplistic, oval dining table, created from matching walnut.
