Elite Retrofittable 16A 30mA RCD Protection Module

The Elite 16A 30mA RCD unit has been designed to meet the new requirements of BS 6396:208+A1:2015 installation standard for Electrical Installations in Office Furniture.
From December 2015 if you are connecting 13 Amp desk Power Modules into an existing building via a fixed installation socket (eg wall or floorbox) -then in order to comply with BS 6396:208+A1:2015, the desk power modules must be protected by an RCD.

The Elite RCD unit can be retrofitted into any existing desk power installation that utilises a 3 pole GST connection. The Elite RCD unit simply connects via connector lead (supplied separately).

The Elite Protection Module is manufactured in nylon 6 material and has a clear, protective lid.

A fixed wiring system may already be providing RCD protection to the desk power module by one of the following:
> RCBO – at the distribution board
> SRCD – at the wall socket
> SRCD at the floor box
> RCD – in the floor box
> Fuse Spur with FCURCD

If this is the case then a desk power installation does not need a separate RCD unit to comply with BS 6396:208+A1:2015.
