Button-fix is a highly precise and secure way of attaching panels without any visible fixings. The versatile range makes panelling walls or ceilings, assembling furniture, and hanging many other interior fittings easy and reliable. When mounted on Button-fix, panels can be removed in a matter of seconds, to gain access to pipework and services, for repair, recycling or updating to the latest design. Future-proof your installation and make the installer’s job easy. Use Button-fix and enable panels to be reused or repurposed, not destined for landfill.
Type 2 COMPACT is the most compact and versatile Button-fix solution yet:
— Smaller installation depth than Type 2.
— Option of push-on or drop-down assembly.
— Ideal for washroom services ducts.
Like the original Type 2, they connect panels at 90° or to a frame. But their more compact installation depth allows the Button to be fitted to the edge of an aperture in an 18mm (3/4”) panel – ideal for a service access window.
Two interchangeable clip designs give the option of push-on assembly (for easy panel removal) or drop-down assembly (for greater security). Unlike the original Type 2, the drop-down version of Type 2 COMPACT is not restricted to vertical panels and can be used in angled or horizontal applications.
Type 2 COMPACT is ideal for washroom services ducts (IPS systems) with a mixture of access and fixed panels, or for panels below washbasin vanity units, such as wheelchair-accessible washstands compliant with the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) regulations.
Type 2 COMPACT is manufactured from durable engineering polymers: 30% glass filled nylon PA6 for the Button and drop-down Fix; acetal for the push-on Fix. As a general guide, a vertical panel can weigh up to a maximum of 120kg, when supported on 4 x drop-down Fixes, or 60kg when supported on 4 x push-on Fixes, provided that the screws and substrate are properly matched and all other installation instructions are complied with. Manufactured in the UK.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that Buttonfix Limited is consulted before specifying.
