Blast doors protect personnel and assets from the effect of accidental or intentional blast events on a range of buildings, facilities and installations including oil and gas rigs, drilling vessels, petrochemical and pharmaceutical plants and buildings at risk from terrorist attack.

They are designed elastically so as to prevent permanent deformation and remain operative after an event. In the case of an equivalent static blast load being advised, doors are designed to BS5950. Where a blast pulse shape is advised, a dynamic analysis is performed based on 'Biggs' in conjunction with BS5950. Booth s design methodology has been proved by using static and dynamic blast analysis and full scale project specific tests.

Booth is able to design doors to withstand in excess of 800 Bar pressure. It is fully conversant with all major design and construction codes, and it provides turnkey packages of design, fabrication, project management, supply, installation and commissioning. It is a long established provider of blast and radiation shielding doors to the MOD, including the Atomic Weapons Establishment, Aldermaston. Booth is also a long established provider to the global offshore oil and gas sector, and is a prominent supplier of fire and blast doors and walls for exploration platforms.
