Cast Iron gutters and rainwater pipes (downpipes) are the traditional choice for durable and aesthetically pleasing rainwater systems. It is still manufactured to the same shapes and sizes that it was 100 years ago, making it ideal for replacing existing cast iron products on Heritage and Listed building projects.
Britannia gutters are available in plain half round, beaded half round, Victorian ogee, moulded ogee and from late summer 2021, notts ogee and deepflow. The system is ready for connection on to circular downpipes or rectangular downpipes.
All Cast Iron products supplied by ARP are supplied either in primed, ready for on-site decoration, or Factory Applied Wet Paint to any BS or RAL colour on our own advanced finishing plant and every item is inspected prior to shipment to site.
Properties
Traditional sand cast iron, manufactured to BS460:1964 with a life expectancy over 100 years.
Complies to all Listed building, Heritage and Conservation requirements.
Supplied transit primed or factory applied wet paint finish in semi gloss black as standard or to a specific RAL/BS colour on request.
Jointing
This rainwater pipe system is a socketed system, with a male and female end, which are interlocked to form the joint. The waterproof seal between the two surfaces is created with the use of a low modular sealant, such as Arbosil 1096.

Functional Life Expectancy
ARP qualifies that when installed correctly and maintained in accordance with its product guidelines and O&M procedure, its products are designed to give a minimum effective functional life expectancy of 100 years.
