We design school canopies to incorporate classroom space with a covered outside area in order to maximise the learning experience. Educational arrangements can be greatly improved and constraints on space, from larger class sizes, alleviated. Students will be able to benefit from natural daylight with the inbuilt protection of a UV screen added to the roofing sheets at the manufacturing stage. The roofing sheets we use for our school canopies are guaranteed for 10 years but have a service life of 30 years, our commitment to high-quality is reflected in our bespoke canopy designs and structures.

Storage items and equipment can be relocated outside under cover and our school canopy fittings can create spacious outside dining areas. Each custom canopy installation transforms exposed spaces into practical and pleasant areas, such is the versatility of our constructions. Located not far from Galashiels, Heriot Watt Borders College provides a range of higher education courses including apprentice training for the construction industry. Our task was to provide a covered area for the woodworking department to allow use of their storage yard at the back of the classroom area even during inclement weather.

Rather than requiring any new ground support the canopy was mounted off the existing substantial steel fence and specialised steel brackets to lift over the existing roof. The area is now protected and wood storage does not get saturated even during periods of prolonged rain.

Upon completion the new canopy was admired by staff including the bricklaying department next door.
