VOLA - Bathroom Taps

by Williams Ironmongery

Vola is the story of how architect Arne Jacobsen and manufacturer Verner Overgaard joined forces to create something original, beautiful and timeless. Overgaard, the owner of Vola, was looking for a designer who could realize his idea for a revolutionary new product: a tap with a wall-mounted mixer where mechanical parts are concealed within the wall, leaving only the handle and spout visible.

When Jacobsen came to his attention through his award wining Bank of Denmark project, Overgaard knew he d found a partner as committed to modernist form and function as himself. The Vola Taps went into production in 1968 and have since won international acclaim.

Technology over the last half century has improved dramatically, in keeping with the demands and expectations of modern living. During this time Vola has introduced into its range new and exciting products, as well as alternative finishes, in order to meet the ever changing needs of a modern life style. Having stood the test of time, Vola continues to remain one of the most sought after design products in the world.
