Last year an international airport hub served more than 46 million passengers and reported £37.5m income from catering. These lucrative possibilities mean that the competition between various catering points is fierce, so they need to constantly up their game by updating their services and interiors.

This led a well-established operator of VIP and Club Lounges to provide similar services to economy passengers in a new lounge emitting the laid-back ambience of a New York Loft, blending a warm, welcoming and informal look with cleverly defined functional zoning.

Split to accommodate a TV, snug and game areas, the central open space assists unobstructed access to the outside terrace overlooking the runways. With so many different functions, it was imperative to provide acoustic absorption for aural comfort.

Supaslat Panels with Acoustic backing provided a perfect solution. Solid Ash slats create a warm, elegant look that works superbly with the lighting in the overall design.
