WELLBEING IN THE WORKPLACE, AND THE IMPORTANCE OF ACOUSTICS.

Wellbeing in the work place is increasingly becoming a very important topic in the design community. With articles about wellbeing at work being in the top articles read in 2022, results as published by “Architect-at-work.co.uk”. As more and more of us since the pandemic, have adopted a hybrid way of working, and many people work partly at home and partly in their office, there are many articles and news items currently, suggesting that employers and employees would both benefit from places of work being designed in such a way that carefully consider peoples Wellbeing at work, so that when they visit they can have a positive experience there, and maximise their productivity.  

As much as people enjoy an open plan office environment, noise is often the by-product, and it can seriously affect individuals, increasing stress, reducing productivity by up to 60%, and some tests have shown even leading to illness and a higher turnover of staff. 

Statistics prove in order for staff to feel productive, they need to have quiet spaces to work, and make calls, and many prefer either casual, informal meeting zones to conduct face to face meetings with their colleagues and clients, or a purpose built meeting room when required.
