Fiji (Hardwood) Shutters

by Shutter Master

Our first level of hardwood shutters has been known by a couple of names in the past depending on the material used.

Larchwood and Pearlwood have given way to Fiji – made from Paulownia. This is an extremely fast growing tree, growing to full height in around seven years. It also grows from trunk where it is cut, eliminating the need for constant re-planting. This makes it a very environmentally friendly choice for the construction of plantation and solid panel shutters.

Although extremely light the Fiji shutters are resistant to warping and the grain structure makes them ideal for stained finishes.
